Short Course Description
Operations research helps in solving problems in different environments that needs decisions. The modules cover topics that include: linear programming, Transportation, Assignment, and network flow problems such as the shortest path, minimum spanning tree, and maximum flow. Analytic techniques and computer packages will be used to solve problems facing business managers in decision environments.
Prerequisite: MATH 241
Prerequisite: MATH 241
Upon completing the course, students will have the ability to:
1. Understand the integrated nature of the discipline. 2. identify and develop operational research models from the verbal description of the real system 3. Understand the basic principles of linear programming. 4. Comprehend the concepts of Simplex algorithm. 5. Analyze the concept of duality and post optimality analysis. 6. Build and solve Assignment Models. 7. Build and solve Transportation Model. 8. Identify, formulate, and solve basic engineering and managerial problems. 9. Use mathematical software to solve the proposed models. 10. implement practical cases, by using POM. |
